Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Q: Who can enroll at Eagle East Aviation?

A: Anyone interested in learning to fly—whether you’re a complete beginner, changing careers, or pursuing aviation as a personal goal. Because we operate under FAA Part 61, students don’t “enroll” in a traditional school program. Instead, you simply start scheduling lessons with our instructors and work toward your pilot license and ratings at your own pace, with personalized training every step of the way.

Q: How do I start flight training with Eagle East Aviation?

A: The first step is to schedule a Discovery Flight. This short introductory flight gives you a hands-on feel for flying and helps you decide if aviation is the right path for you. After your Discovery Flight, our flight instructors will put you on the training schedule and help you move confidently toward earning your pilots license.

Q: What licenses and ratings do you offer?

We offer training for Private Pilot License (PPL), Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot License (CPL), and other advanced certifications (where applicable). Our certified flight instructors work closely with every student to ensure they receive the individual training and hands-on flight experience required to progress confidently through each phase of their aviation education.

Q: How much does flight training cost at Eagle East Aviation?

A: Your Private Pilots license will cost about $12-$20,000 depending on how often you fly. If you pay $1,500 up front in cash or check, you will get 5% added to your account. We also accept all major credit cards.

Q: How long does it take to complete my pilot training?

A: The duration depends on how frequently you fly and how quickly you complete the required flight hours and ground school. The FAA minimum for earning a Private Pilot License is 40 flight hours, however most students nationwide typically finish closer to 60–75 hours.

Q: Are there age or English-language requirements?

A: Yes. To earn a Private Pilot License, students must be at least 17 years old and able to read, write, and speak English proficiently in order to meet FAA standards. However, students may begin flight lessons earlier, and you are eligible to solo an aircraft at 16 years old if you meet FAA requirements and receive an instructor endorsement.

Q: Do you offer tours of your planes and facilities?

A: Yes — we encourage prospective students to visit, meet our instructors, and see our fleet. Touring our facility helps you make an informed decision before beginning your pilot training. We also offer scenic flights and aerial tours that give you an exciting view of the area from the cockpit while experiencing what it’s like to fly in one of our aircraft.
