Flight Programs and Rates
We have a variety of programs to make learning to fly affordable. At Eagle East we use several different aircraft for flight training. One of the most common trainers is the four seat Cessna C-172. Flight lessons are scheduled at your convenience assuming availability of instructor and aircraft.
We do require that the renter purchase rental insurance. You may find out about renter's insurance through AOPA, AIG or Avemco. We ask for a minimum of $20,000 hull coverage and $500K/$100K liability. The cost of this coverage is small, for piece of mind. We are open every day from 7:00 AM until dark.
Introductory Flight - The introductory flight is an actual flight lesson with an FAA Certified Instructor, so you will be doing most of the flying. This is an inexpensive way to see how fun flying a general aviation aircraft can be. It is also a great way to start accumulating time towards your private pilot's license. The introductory flight counts towards the time required to obtain your license. Here are the costs for an introductory flight:

EEA's Discount Rates - Eagle East has determined that many of our rental customers rent more than one type of aircraft that we offer. We offer a straight discount for money that is placed on account. This money can be used on the rental of any aircraft and applies as follows: If you pre-pay one thousand dollars ($1000.00), your account will be credited with one thousand thirty dollars ($1030.00). This represents a three percent discount.
(Check, Cash or Shell credit card only to receive discount.)
*** Note: A positive balance must be maintained to receive this discount.
Amount Pre-paid on Account | Percent Discount | Credit Placed on Account |
---|---|---|
$1000.00 | 3% | $1030.00 |
Amount Pre-paid on Account | Percent Discount | Credit Placed on Account |

Ground** | $80.00 per hour |

Flight** | $80.00 per hour |
Your Airplane** | $110.00 per hour |
Hourly Rates - We offer all of our aircraft and instruction at competitive hourly rates on a pay-as-you-fly basis. These costs are used as the basis of our discount programs.
You are charged for the time shown on the aircraft's Hobbs meter which records the time the engine is on. For longer trips, we bill based on a minimum of half the scheduled time. (If you book the plane for 5 hours, we expect a minimum of 2.5 of actual flight time). For trips between 6 hours and 1 full day, we will bill a minimum of 4 hours. See our rental agreement for more details.

Ground School - Eagle East offers Private Pilot Ground School. Ground School is taught by one of our Certified Flight Instructors in a professional classroom environment. Like the military and the airlines, Eagle East feels a well run ground school is essential in producing well-informed, safe pilots. It's also a great way to network and meet future flying companions.
All Eagle East programs give the customer a fixed discount from the moment of purchase and the discount remains the same regardless of the aircraft usage per month. Our programs are unlike "Flying Clubs" that offer impressive rates but require an initial up-front payment and monthly "dues" throughout your membership whether you fly or not. At Eagle East you will not be penalized due to inclement weather or a busy work schedule.
